God is not dead.

He is Alive.

God determines how those of us that follow him will be used. He raises up communities like ours in spite of all our failures and weaknesses. He certainly did with ours. We did not start WyldLife at Murchison. God did it. We got to see it. I did not gain His favor by going on mission trips to Mexico, or serving on mobile loaves. I did see Him use me. He’s invited us to pray and be involved in His work here, and because of our relationship with him, we have seen him do so much. Changed hearts, healed bodies, one answered prayer after another. He invites each of us into those types events. The things He is doing on this earth. Not just those that move your family to Costa Rica. Or Timbuktu. But downtown. In our schools. Our neighborhoods. Right here, right now. Through each of us, if we let Him.

I saw God move when I visited Mexico and we see him alive everywhere in the world today. It is his glory on display every day right here in this city and around the world. He is constantly doing things big and small to draw people to himself.

In Ephesians it starts out with what God has done for all of us. Then he invites us into what he is doing. His word at the beginning of Ephesians 4 is “in your vocation” Your vocation now. It does not say you need a new one. It is a YES, a response to his invitation. Then as you respond, watch him move. The last verses are about the battle that is ensuing here on earth and standing in the warfare that comes. Because the enemy does not want God’s work on display. He wants it perverted or twisted into a lie.

But backing up to the first part of Ephesians (Eph 1-3) it talks about how God comes to us first. We don’t have to earn anything; we can’t. He does not love us more because of these things that we are sometimes called to do BECAUSE he loves each of us SUPREMELY. As we are sitting here right now, He loves us. He loves You. He even loves those of us that don’t love Him.

Jeannie and I believe that he is doing some amazing things in Costa Rica. HE, the Creator, is doing some amazing things in Costa Rica. It is going to be His glory on display and He has invited us to be part of that and we just can’t NOT go. It is GOD working out salvation for the kids and families of Costa Rica. We get to meet them. We get to tell them about Him. God willing, we can show them how He is alive and moving in this world. That they can watch it happen and be a broken vessel that the Lord pours blessing out of onto the hurting people of the world.

He wants to show you how he is working in the world around you. But first He wants you to spend time learning all that he has given each of us through Christ. Read Ephesians 1:16 to the end. Paul’s prayer and my prayer is that you will feel the magnitude of what Jesus has done and given us access to on this earth.

I pray that you will see opening your life to Christ as you are today is not the end of the life you planned, but the beginning of the life He planned for you. It is not a move to Costa Rica or Timbuktu. It is maybe trip to Nicaragua or maybe serving at the home next door. It is getting on your knees and inviting Him to show you what to do; not for proof He exists but because you ONLY want to do what God wants to do through you. That is key. He loves you Supremely. He wants to give you good gifts.

Invite him in. Give Him the wheel and He will show you things you have never imagined. Impossible things. And each day you will know more and more that “less of me and more of Him” is the only thing that matters.
